Beauty maths
At Vogue, they've worked out the cost per use of some beauty products, making it a little easier to justify your purchases (not that I've ever need help there!) First, a bottle of Butter London nail varnish (£12), works out at 22p per use based on 55 applications.
Bobbi Brown lip colour; you'll get 186 slicks out of this £18 product making the cost per use 10p.
Finally, a Jo Malone diffuser, which at £45 works out at 1p per hour with 3600 hours use.

Mint jeans
I'm beginning to love all the coloured jeans that are around at the moment; these mint ones are really pretty.

Thyme roasted grapes
I've pinned so many mouth-watering recipes and ideas on Pinterest, so at the weekend I decided to try one of the simple recipes I'd found. First, I put a handful of grapes along with salt and a few thyme sprigs in the oven and roasted them.
When they were ready (when they began to burst), I took them out and put them on top of grilled bread spread with ricotta. The grapes tasted amazing with the salt and thyme.

Pink flowers
I bought these flowers for our living room last week and they make the room instantly pretty. Over the weekend the flowers blossomed into these beautiful pink shades.

Buttery herb toasts + happy weekend
I love any recipes that give food a little twist, such as these herb and gruyere toasts for dipping. Yum.

Alfie tries Olives
I put together a little plate of foods for Alfie to snack on earlier this week; consisting of ham, cheese, grapes, and olives which I thought would be nice to try.
Yellow nails
I love these yellow painted nails but don't know if I'd be brave enough to wear it - I'm more of a pale pink or dark girl. Nails Inc have a pretty version; would you wear yellow nail varnish?

Entertaining the boys
Over the Easter break the weather wasn't so great, so I entertained Jamie and Alfie with a few indoor activities, such as picnics for lunch where we spread a big blanket out in the middle of the living room and ate our favourite foods (a big hit). This was something else I tried - making a road for their little cars out of masking tape. I'd seen this online and thought it was a fab idea and the boys loved it.

New show - Hart of Dixie
Rachel Bilson is starring in a new show starting here soon, and I'm curious to see what it's like! Rachel is Zoe, a doctor who moves from New York to Alabama and it follows her adventures there. Will you be watching? I adore Rachel's sense of style; she always looks immaculate whether she's dressed casually or glammed up.

Easy bake
On Sunday I made this bake from Melinda Messenger's cookbook (which is really good, there are lots of recipes I am going to try in there), and we loved it! I served it at the table with buttered toast, and let everyone pick out what they wanted - I always find doing this encourages the boys to try new things and they enjoy choosing what they have. I did things a little differently than the recipe in the book but it was still yum. Read on for the recipe:
Dewy skin
I've just ordered a bottle of Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, and I'm excited to try it! I've heard so many good things about it (Vogue named it a must-have product), and I love that it's completely natural. I'm just hoping I'll have gorgeous dewy skin after using it :)

Relaxed outfit
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Jamie's back at school today after the Easter break and I have loved our two weeks off together (I'm going to miss him now he's back!) Now the weather is getting a little bit more spring-like (ish), I'm looking for new outfit ideas - I love this one. The stripes, skinny jeans and oversize bag are gorgeous.

Alfie the sleeper
A funny story I wanted to share with you: yesterday, whilst we were shopping at the supermarket, I sat Alfie (above as a teeny newborn, asleep) in the seat of the trolley as I normally do, and half way round he fell asleep! Actually asleep. He had his head rested on his little hands on the bar in front of him. So cute.

Chocolate coated biscuits + happy weekend
I had such a craving for something sweet yesterday that I ate these; crunchy biscuits with chocolate spread on top :)

Pinterest favourites
I love Pinterest. I see so many inspiring images and ideas on there all the time. These are my boards if you'd like to see. Three of my favourite pins this week; a sweet outfit (I'm a guest at a wedding this July, do you think a skirt like this would be pretty to wear?), hair inspiration, and beautiful pink flowers.

A five year old's shoppng list
I painted our notice board with blackboard paint last week, and we've already used it so much. Yesterday, Jamie asked my Mum to add these items to the list for the next time we go shopping: chocolate, sweeties, pop, crisps, pizza and popcorn. Ha!
Chicken + tomato salad
At the weekend we made this meal, following a recipe torn out of a magazine and kept in my file, and it was delicious! It was really easy to prepare.
Basically, we wrapped pancetta around baby mozzarella balls, and roasted these with the chicken in a tray. When it was ready, (after about 20 mins), we served with spinach and a tomato salad consisting of different types of tomato mixed with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Yum!
