Home scent

I pinned this on Pinterest a while ago and couldn't wait to try it out - a recipe to make your house smell gorgeous.  It's so simple to do; basically, simmer a sliced lemon, a few sprigs of rosemary and a coupe of teaspoons of vanilla extract in a pan.  Our house smelled comforting and lovely.

Pretty look

These rolled up trousers and shoes are adorable.

Pretty organisation

I love being organised and finding new ways to store things that are practical but still nice to look at, so this ticks all the boxes for me.

Favourite things + happy weekend

(reading books with the boys)

The beautiful weather we've had this week has meant that we have been outside in the garden at every possible opportunity, just playing and relaxing and enjoying the sun. This weekend we're off to a barbeque with Jamie and Alfie's cousins which we're all looking forward to.

Catching up + tapas

So, on Friday night, I met my four best friends for a catch up. It was extra exciting as one of them has just got engaged so we couldn't wait to hear how her fiance proposed :)
We shared the most delicious feta and olives, goats cheese topped roasted vegetables, and salsa covered nachos. It was lovely to have a girly chat with gorgeous food and wine.

Lemon olive oil

Neil's a great cook and often drizzles olive oil over what he's made for us, but last week we ate fresh pasta with lemon olive oil, and it was delicious! It added a lovely taste and freshness without being overpowering (the one we used is here).

Favourite things

(pretty detailing on the mirror in our living room)

Happy Friday! Can you believe it's this time of the week again?! Tonight I am meeting friends for some tapas and a catch-up which I'm really excited about. Other than that, we don't have any plans - we're just going to see happens (Saturday night will definitely involve a delicious meal though). Here are a few of the things making me happy this week:
(toasting filled mini pitta breads)
(eating homemade soup - the best I've tasted)
(sorting through nail supplies)
(the pretty white lamp on my bedside table)

Baked tomato, garlic, and red pepper crostini

A summery, easy (all the veg goes in a roasting tray for an hour) yummy looking dish? Yes please! Recipe here.

Living with little ones

As much as I love being organised and having a place for everything, I have learned not to mind when every single toy the boys own is out on the floor or there's paint on the table when we're making pictures.  Everything can be tidied away at the end of the day and cleaned away; I'd much rather the boys were enjoying themselves and having fun!  Love these pictures that sum up living with children perfectly.

Fairy lights

Wouldn't this hallway be so warm and inviting to come home to?  Imagine all those pretty lights being there throughout the year; what a great idea.

Iced lollipops + happy weekend

It was Neil's birthday yesterday so tomorrow the boys are off to my Mums for a sleepover :) We plan to walk to a bar nearby and have a couple of drinks before returning home for a home-cooked meal (as much as I love eating out, there is something so romantic and special about cooking and eating together in your own home).

I made these lollipops by freezing yoghurt; they are much less messy than making with fruit juice and Alfie loved them!

I would love to eat here.

Black t-shirt

I love this easy to wear black t-shirt, so easy to wear with skinny jeans / sandals / a maxi skirt.

Pretty cover-up + happy weekend

Wouldn't this dress be perfect for the beach?  Such a pretty colour (and would look beautiful with a tan!)

Displaying photographs

We have lots of photographs dotted around our home, but I particularly love these black and white ones. So classic and lovely.

Hemsley And Hemsley

I'm really excited to see what recipes these two sisters come up with; (this buckwheat noodle one looks delicious).  They create recipes that are are grain, gluten and refined sugar free, but are "anti-diet, anti-deprivation and anti-guilt".  Sounds good to me!

Beautiful wedding stationery

These are adorable.

Wedding outfit

A friend of mine is getting married this July and I love the idea of wearing a maxi skirt - laid-back yet glamorous.  So, after looking around, I've found these gorgeous items:

Peppermint tea

I've just started drinking peppermint tea as I'm trying to cut down on the caffeine I drink, and I love it! I've been drinking it after a meal and it's so refreshing. Are there any herbal teas you recommend?
