MAKING CAKES

One of our very favourite things to do is make cakes.  There's something so comforting about taking simple ingredients and measuring, pouring, and mixing them to make something delicious to eat.  The boys love to join in and help, as I did when I was young, and they LOVE to decorate them with sprinkles, strawberries, mini smarties etc.

ALFIE EATS LEMONS

We went out for our dinner at the weekend, to a lovely little pub just across from where we were married (and I had Churros for the first time with hot chocolate sauce for dessert - so good!)  Alfie's meal came with a cut lemon on the plate so he decided to eat it... we tried to warn him!  (Please excuse the grainy photo, we quickly took the picture on Neil's phone :) 

ALFIE + THE CARDBOARD BOX

Yesterday this huge box arrived at our house and the boys immediately dragged it upstairs to decorate it (Jamie very sweetly wrote Alfie's name on it for him).  Alfie has spent the majority of today inside it, pretending he is a parcel ready to be sent somewhere, which I think is adorable, and I love the fact he can have so much fun with something so simple.

p.s. the baskets seen here were inside the box... I couldn't resist them.

Holiday!

We are finally packed and ready to go on our holiday tomorrow (above is the very start of my packing). The boys are excited to see the Aeroplanes at the airport, then once we arrive to play on the beach:)  I am looking forward to not having a schedule to stick to in the mornings and to relaxing with my family.  I've set a few posts for whilst we are away; see you soon!
